The importance of a solid mailing list has long been indoctrinated in our marketing minds. A solid mailing list would be able to provide for our websites recurring traffic by culling the contact details of past visitors so that we may be able to invite them again once updates are made on our web pages. For those o us who are conducting businesses through our websites, mailing lists become doubly important, as they could be a source for recurring sales.

Aside from these, one great benefit of having a large and responsive mailing list is that most webmasters would require such whenever you would decide to strike up an agreement, or a joint venture, with them. Some webmasters would judge your online endeavor based on your mailing list alone. Having a lucrative one would give you a
better bargaining chip to bring to the table.

This has caused a mad rush to capture leads left and right. Leads refer to the email addresses of people who visit our website. To capture them would mean to make them subscribe to our mailing list.

The problem is, capturing leads has never been an easy task. Nor has it been a task for the impatient. It will take some time, and often, a lot of time before a solid mailing list can be achieved and before we could reap some benefits from the same.

Not all of us could spare that time. There are a lot of webmasters who wish to gain the benefits of mailing lists as soon as possible. What recourse could these people take?

Well, they could always opt to purchase leads.

There are a lot of services being offered in the World Wide Web that offer leads for sale. They come in a variety of packages according to the number of leads they could deliver. Should you trust these services? Are they worth investing on?

There are always some pros and cons to any given situation, and buying leads is not a special case. Let's take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of this system.

ADVANTAGES:

* Buying leads would bulk up your mailing list really quick. This is the most obvious benefit and the primary motivation of those who decide to take this route.
* Buying leads is more convenient. You won't have to work that hard to build your subscribers base.
* Buying leads would give an instant boost to your traffic.

Now let's take a look at the disadvantages of this method.

DISADVANTAGES:

* Buying leads would not assure you of quality subscribers. If you're running a business online, you would need people who are somewhat interested on the subject of your enterprise. Buying leads would not give you such a guarantee.
* Buying leads would not assure you of genuine subscribers. Some unscrupulous services actually offer different email addresses from one and the same person.
* Buying leads won't guarantee you that such subscribers would stay.

So what is an impatient webmaster supposed to do?

Well, resorting to purchasing leads can still be availed of, provided that much caution is exercised in pursuing the same. Try to study the track record of the service you have in mind. If you have to ask some questions about the leads they will deliver, do so as it is within your right. Try to find a service that would provide highly targeted subscribers, that is, people who are within your targeted demographic and who profess an interest on the subject of your website.

There are some services that offer recurring leads, which means that the said service would provide you fresh leads every month. They would be a better option because you could check the veracity of the leads they will deliver, and it would be highly unlikely for them to send leads that they have already used the previous months. Additionally, this option would mean a continuously growing subscribers base for you, which would mean more traffic for your website, and/or more potential customers for your online business.
