You most probably have encountered a lot of advertisements offering an instant boost of traffic for your website. This is perhaps the biggest lie in Internet marketing, next to the claim of getting your rich overnight, of course. Let me explain why.

You can't expect guests to visit your house when you never made any attempts to invite them to come over, right? In the same light, supposing, by some stroke of luck (or misfortune, depending on how you would look at it), guests do arrive at your house. Do you think they'd stay if you haven't prepared anything to welcome them? Not even a topic for conversation?

But what if you would make the necessary preparations to make them feel welcome in your house, and you exert some efforts to create nice house party invitations on beautiful stationeries wonderfully
rolled and tied with an attractive ribbon? Wouldn't your visitors stay a little longer, and perhaps, even come back to your humble abode in the future?

The same principle applies in traffic generation schemes.

There's No Such Thing As Instant Traffic

Anyone who would promise you instant visitors the moment you'd engage their services is offering you a scam. The fact is, a boost in traffic would need some time to take effect. Much like preparing your house to accommodate new visitors, you would need to optimize your website to invite the traffic that really counts.

Also, even untargeted traffic wouldn't be that simple to generate. A service can give you some visitors whom they they're keeping in reserve, but this would take at least two days to reflect on your website's counter. The propriety of resorting to this method should also questioned. What would you do with visitors who are not even interested with your website?

The Best Traffic Generation Scheme

A newbie once confided with me his difficulties in earning through the affiliate links he has gathered. He has a lot of highly sellable products at his disposal, bestsellers in their own rights, and a beautiful website template that was freely provided for one of the affiliate programs he joined.

There lies the problem.

His website, though beautifully designed, is not just substantial enough. It was a series of sales pitches combined in one page. This shouldn't be the case, as such a website won't even stand the chance to pre-sell any products.

The number one tactic to boost traffic to your website is by investing in good, quality content. People surf the Internet in search for information. If you'll be able to provide for them the information they need, then you'd be in business. You'll be giving them reason to go to your website and see what you have to offer.

The saying "content is king" has been widely used that it is almost a clich. But it's true. Content should be the heart of your website, as this would be the magnet that would pull in those visitors.

Traffic You Would Work For

Once you have premium, unique content integrated in your website, it's time to let the whole world know that such information can be found in your web pages. This is the domain of marketing, and there are quite a number of strategies that you could do yourself to win the visitors you need. Let's take a look at some of them.

The point here is, there is really no such thing as instant traffic. View this article as a warning and a lesson you should heed. Establishing the prominence of your website is something you should work for, and not something that you could idly await by doling out some cash.
